At the opening ceremony of the United Nations Climate Change June Meetings (SB64) in Bonn on 11 June 2026, delegates, climate leaders, and stakeholders from around the world paid tribute to His Excellency Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Attiyah in recognition of his longstanding contributions to global energy dialogue and climate cooperation.

The tribute formed part of the official opening proceedings of the meetings, which bring together representatives from governments, international organisations, business, and civil society to advance negotiations and preparations for the next UN Climate Change Conference. The recognition reflected the high regard in which H.E. Al-Attiyah is held across the international energy and climate community and highlighted the enduring engagement of the Al-Attiyah Foundation in promoting dialogue on energy, sustainability, and development.
